Martin specialises in structured debt funding, commercial property and corporate banking transactions and providing regulatory advice around National Credit Code compliance, unfair contract terms and general banking law. He undertakes work for a variety of lenders including all major banks, several challenger banks and private debt funders. Martin is a key client contact with many of our longstanding banking clients.

Martin’s practice is unique in that he provides coverage across all sectors of banking, from small medium enterprise to institutional. He has hands on experience at every level, from the due diligence, documentation and settlement stage, to providing advice on complex legal issues that arise in the course of a matter. He is recognised as an industry expert for his understanding and use of PEXA and is one of the firm’s leading lawyers in the design and development of loan contract and security precedents for new lenders and banks alike. He is known for his commercial and pragmatic advice and the collegiate and positive attitude he brings to transactions.

Martin was named the 2020 and 2021 winner of the Banking and Finance category of the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Awards, being one of the only practitioners nationally to ever be recognised for this achievement back-to-back. In 2022, Martin was named a finalist in the Banking and Finance category of the Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year Awards.
