Gadens, along with other firms in the legal community, has joined UNICEF’s ‘Give the World a Shot‘ program and will be donating to support the vaccination of two people in developing countries for every staff member who reports that they have received their first vaccination against COVID-19.
The aim of UNICEF’s program is to deliver two billion vaccines, 5.6 million tests and 5.5 million treatments around the world this year – ensuring no one is left behind in the race to vaccinate against COVID-19.
Gadens Chief Executive Officer, Mark Pistilli says:
“This is a great initiative from UNICEF, and sets all countries – not just the wealthier ones – on the path to recovery from the pandemic. Via an anonymous form, we’re asking our people to let us know when they have had their first dose, and then are making the donation to UNICEF. We’ve also been using our networks and putting the call out on social media to ask others to join us – and the response has been overwhelming.
“As a business that has an interest in flows of people and flows of capital getting back to ‘normal’, vaccination is the only viable path we can see for that to happen. In addition to this, there are also other benefits to the community, both socially and on a personal level.”
Sustainability and social impact is a key strategic pillar for Gadens, with the newly established Sustainability and Social Impact team driving initiatives, such as ‘Give the World a Shot’ that aims to create a positive impact in our communities. Under the program, staff are able to register their vaccination anonymously in order to support the global community in the fight against COVID-19.
