National firm Gadens has appointed Donna Bartlett as a Partner in its Intellectual Property & Technology Team in Sydney. Donna brings extensive expertise in technology and intellectual property law, outsourced services, government contracting and procurement, and aviation.
Donna’s appointment follows the announcements in late 2017 that Brett Feltham (Employment Advisory), James Roland (Banking & Finance), Kathy Merrick and Dermott Lynch (Disputes), Robert Tracy and Ted Nixey (Corporate Advisory), Michael Bampton and Archie Smith (Property, Construction & Planning) have all joined Gadens as partners in Sydney as the firm markedly enhances its profile in the Sydney market.
Grant Scott-Hayward, Gadens Chief Executive Officer said:
“Donna is a great appointment for the further expansion of not only our Intellectual Property & Technology Team, but also Gadens’ ongoing growth in Sydney. Donna brings a wealth of experience from working with clients across a diverse range of industry sectors including technology, aviation, manufacturing, retail, sporting, not-for-profit and professional services.”
Commenting on her decision to join Gadens, Donna Bartlett said:
“Gadens is committed to building on its specialist Intellectual Property & Technology practice and delivering the best strategic legal and commercial advice to clients. In line with the firm’s vision to be a leader in technology, joining Gadens presents a great opportunity to help lead this practice in the Sydney market, allowing us to further embed our service offering to clients and further develop our market-leading expertise in technology and protection of intellectual property assets.”
Donna was recently recognised in the 2018 WTR 1000 The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals for transactions involving intellectual property. Advising on such transactions, Donna brings a depth of knowledge and experience to all aspects of the business life-cycle advising on setup and structuring and intellectual property strategy, protection, commercialisation and acquisition. Donna’s technology practice is focused on advising technology suppliers and acquirers on a broad range of technology-related transactions from proposal preparation and tender response through contract negotiation and management.
“We look forward to the leadership and practice development Donna will bring, increasing the breadth and depth of our capabilities and service offerings for our clients. Donna’s appointment will help position Gadens’ Intellectual Property & Technology practice even more strongly in the market.” concludes Mr. Scott-Hayward.
