Gadens advises that on 30 September, Paul Spiro will be retiring from the partnership following his 36-year tenure, including 23 years as Managing Partner/Chairman of the Brisbane office.
Spiro has been instrumental in shaping Gadens’ culture of creativity and continuing the firm’s commitment to the arts. He has overseen a period of significant growth in Gadens’ revenue, people and clients, and continued Gadens’ focus on innovation and thought leadership.
Spiro will remain connected with Gadens as a consultant, working closely with the partners and executive team to continue to support and grow the firm.
Gadens’ new Brisbane Chairman will be Jim Demack, who, together with Shantal Read, as Brisbane Office Partner, will provide leadership to the firm as it continues to grow and thrive.
Demack will bring a wealth of experience to the role of Chairman, having been with the firm for more than 30 years, with 23 years as a Partner in the Brisbane office. As part of his service to the community, he is also a member of the board of UnitingCare Queensland, Queensland’s largest social enterprise.
Read, having been with Gadens for more than 10 years, will bring a sharp focus on client service and growth in her new role. She will also play a key role in ensuring that Gadens’ cultural values are maintained and upheld by all members of the firm.
