National firm Gadens has appointed Archie Smith as a partner in its Property, Construction & Planning Group. Joining the Sydney office, Archie joins Gadens after 12 years as a partner at Kemp Strang in its property practice.
Archie’s appointment follows the announcements in late 2017 that Brett Feltham (Employment Advisory), James Roland (Banking & Finance), Kathy Merrick and Dermott Lynch (Disputes), Robert Tracy and Ted Nixey (Corporate Advisory) and Michael Bampton (Property, Construction & Planning) have all joined Gadens as partners in Sydney as the firm markedly enhances its profile in the Sydney market.
Grant Scott-Hayward, Gadens’ Chief Executive Officer said:
“Archie’s appointment is an important step for the expansion of our Property, Construction & Planning Group in Sydney. As a highly experienced property practitioner, Archie brings extensive expertise to further enhance our service offering to our clients. He is recognised for his expertise by Best Lawyers in the Real Estate category, and is highly-regarded amongst his peers. Archie is a trusted advisor to his clients who include developers, property trusts, investors and corporations. He is a valuable addition to the team and to our firm.”
Commenting on his decision to join Gadens, Archie Smith said:
“Gadens’ Property, Construction & Planning Group presents great opportunities to work with excellent clients in a growing market in New South Wales. I am looking forward to working alongside some of the market’s most highly-regarded practitioners at Gadens, and to assist with the firm’s continuing expansion of this important practice area.”
Archie is highly experienced in the acquisition, disposal and structuring of commercial and industrial transactions, mixed-use and multi-stage developments, landholder projects, complex leasing and licensing, portfolio sales, subdivisions, and strata titling. He also advises clients on property finance.
“With the appointment of Archie to our strong Property, Construction & Planning team, we also foresee a number of synergies across our Corporate, Employment Advisory and Insolvency areas. We are delighted to welcome Archie to Gadens,” concluded Mr Scott-Hayward.
