COVID-19 | Webinar | The JobKeeper Payment: What this might mean for your business

9 April 2020
Siobhan Mulcahy, Partner, Melbourne Steven Troeth, Partner, Melbourne

To assist companies through the economic impacts of COVID-19, the Federal Government recently announced the JobKeeper Payment package. Under the support package, eligible businesses impacted by the coronavirus will be able to access a subsidy from the Government to continue paying their employees. Eligible employers will be able to claim a fortnightly payment of $1,500 per eligible employee from 30 March 2020, for a maximum period of 6 months.

Brett Feltham, a partner in our Employment Advisory team, talks through the JobKeeper Payment, related changes to the Fair Work Act to provide employers with greater flexibility during this period, what this means for employers and some of the issues which need to be considered by each business.

If you have any issues you would like to discuss related to the JobKeeper Payment programme or those Fair Work Act changes, get in touch with our Employment Advisory team.

As part of our client CPD seminars conducted at the end of March 2020, we had a session that covered general HR issues that you might find of interest. A copy of this presentation can be accessed here.
